How These Amazing Morning Routines Will Save You Time
I lovea good morning routine. So today I want to share with you amazing morning routines that will help you save your time and boost productivity.
Who wants to begin their day overwhelmed and stressed out? No one does. So enjoy the post.
Being a working parent is tough. Things can get so hectic that it might seem impossible to accomplish everything that you want. Leaving your home in the morning with your kids, and managing to do it calmly and on-time, can be a difficult task.
Breakfast needs to be made and eaten, hair needs to be brushed, and a variety of little errands needs to be done. However, your morning routine doesn’t necessarily have to be hell. There is a variety of things that you can do in order to prepare yourself for each morning, and do the necessary tasks faster.
1. Take Care Of The Little Things The Night Before
It’s the best idea to take care of all the little things that you can the night before.
Take half an hour after your children are in bed to make coffee, pick up all of their homework, charge the devices that you will be using, and anything else that you can do in advance.
If your kids are old enough, you can have them do some of these tasks as their evening routine. The best solution is to work on this together so that you spend time together as a family as you prepare yourself for the upcoming day.
2. Make Picking Outfits Part Of The Evening Routine
Deciding what to wear in the morning tends to take a lot of time both for you and your children. There are two solutions for this problem. You can take some time on Sunday to pick an outfit for every day of the week and hang it in the closet in an order.
You need to pair together all the pieces of clothing, meaning pants, tops, socks, underwear, sweaters, and accessories. Planning the outfits for the week can make things much easier for you and your kids.
If the weather changes often where you live, or this just seems like too much for you, you can simply help your kids choose the whole outfit the night before, and leave it at a prominent location so that they can change easily in the morning. Make sure that you prepare your own outfit too.
3. Stock Your Car
It’s a good idea to make sure that your car is stocked with essential things at all times. This includes water bottles, snacks, some plastic bags, a towel, hats and mittens if it is wintertime, and sunscreen during the hot summer days. This way you won’t ever have to worry about checking whether you’ve got everything, or making unnecessary stops during the way.
4. Have One Spot For Jackets, Shoes, And Backpacks!
Make space in your home for a place where everyone’s jackets, shoes, and backpacks will be located. When something is always in the same place, it’s easy to find, and you will make sure that it doesn’t get lost. This is particularly useful for school mornings when everything is hectic, and you can’t find the right items if they are scattered across your home.
When there is a single spot for these items, your kids can simply get them when they are leaving for school, and drop them there when they come back. Your kids will also develop the habit of leaving their finished homework in their backpacks so that it doesn’t get misplaced.

5. Know Your Morning Routine
Getting your beauty routine done in the morning and preparing your kids as well tends to take away a lot of time.
You should know what items you need, and which you can put aside. The ideal beauty routine should take about 5 minutes. If you’re in a rush, applying a moisturized with SPF is a great solution for your skin.
When it comes to your kids, it is very important that they wash their teeth in the evening and in the morning.
Sending your kids to regular dental check-ups is of an essence, and can significantly decrease the length of the whole bathroom routine.

6. Shower At Night Instead Of In The Morning
While it is a fact that you may be really tired at the end of the day, it will do you a lot of good if you shower before you go to bed. It’s much better than trying to do it along with all the other things that need to be done in the morning.
What is the best result of this? Your showers will be a lot more relaxing and refreshing when done at night in peace, instead of in the morning when your kids are banging on your door because they need something.
Amazing Morning Routines Are Essential For Time Management
Morning routines tend to be a real mess when you’re a working parent. There is a lot of things that need to be done, and ever so little time.

I really suck at picking out my outfit the day before and knowing my morning routine. I am usually all over the place lol
I need to work on getting my clothes all together the night before vs the morning. I am not a morning person! I do find, setting breakfast bowls, juice cups, and cereal out before I go to bed does help me out in the morning (and a time saver)
Organization is the key. I totally agree with having one location for shoes, bookbags and coats! I’m working on planning out my outfits the night before. I feel like I dressed a lot cuter when I used to do that!
If I could just nail down taking our clothes out at night, my life would be so much easier! I tell myself this every day but never stick with it. I’ll try again
These are all really great tips! I agree that showering the night before is key. It’s amazing how much time even a quick morning shower can take! I actually wrote a post about how I made my morning rountine easier last year and one of the things I mentioned that still holds true today is choosing both the kids’ and my clothes the night before. My brain is always so frazzled trying to get going in the morning and I’m terrible with even little decisions like choosing clothes. It make a major difference to have the clothes ready to go!
I love the idea of doing all that you can the night before. I’m perpetually late so maybe I should try this.
I love all of these tips, and practice them too! Creating a mother station for all the backpacks, coats, and shoes was a total game changer for me!
I am a shower at night girl who has a to-do list waiting for me in the morning but I love the idea of sorting out my outfit for the next day too! Why have i not thought that far ahead yet! Great post 🙂
I agree, like to take my showers at night too. I am a night person, who likes to sleep a little later if I can.
I love these tips. One that I’ve not really practised but that I plan to do soon is sorting out what I’m going to wear from the night before. I totally see how that could save time though. I usually think about it while I am in bed but sometimes find in the morning that something might need ironing etc. Thanks for the tips
I have to admit my routine specially in the mornings not always works lol. I’m not a morning person. At list the kids get to school on time! I’m really bad at taking time for my self. But once in a while will go get a facial. 😉
Great tips! I love how you have broken everything down, so easy for mums. I was preparing until I had an unfortunate miscarriage 🙁 you’re a great mum all the best xx
Thank you for these great tips, I’m not a mom yet but this post was really helpful
These are all great ideas to get out the door quickly and with less stress in the morning.
Great tips. This will eventually save the time and this is really a big thing for those who have kids.
Thanks for sharing your routine. I realized even I dont have a kid yet, i can perform these routines and be more productive everyday 🙂
I follow all the tips .But will try to shower at night .The only problem is I tend to catch a cold then !Wonderful post .Morning does show the day,
These are some great tips! Taking shower in the night definitely makes more sense and gives that peaceful me time. Yet to work on that bags and jackets place thing!
I am not a busy mom and a working mom at that, which by the way how are you ladies doing all?! But, I am always trying in the night before to be ready clothes wise!
Great tips . But is really true shower in the night is recommended ? Perhaps yes for some reasons that don’t allow us to do earlier . But for health reason shower in the morning at the next days even very early will be much better instead of shower always in the late evening daily .
By the way thank you for sharing a nice quote , to be prepare a night before for the next day is a must things to do .
With four children to get ready each morning I definitely try to organise as much as I can the night before! It’s hard work though, mornings are hectic here!
Great tips! In the mornings there’s not really time to think so you need to make it a routine. I can’t skip my morning shower thought – it’s part of my routine.
Morning routines, in fact routines at any time of the day or night, are a must in our house. I make sure that everything is ready the night before, makes the mornings run much smoother.
Wow! Who knew being a mom could be a hella easier! Thanks for this helpful post!
These are some awesome tips. As a mother, morning is one of the most buzzing and busy time of the day; having a good morning routine is a must for some sanity to prevail. Taking shower in the morning is a must for me as it wakes me up completely but when it comes to washing hair, I do it at night. 🙂
Just like me! I cannot not shower in the morning. It would be impossible for me to leave the house. Hair at night too. 🙂
Hectic is right. I feel all over the place every morning since the baby was born. These are great tips.
Sharing this to my friend who is a new mom.
Great tips !!! I do sone of these now apart from the shower as I need it to wake up lol
Great tips, to me, I decide my and my son’s morning outfits in the night itself so that it doesn’t takes long in the morning. I love to keep the purse, bags all readied up in the night itself.
It definitely is important to be organized. The one place pointer was good
Lovely tips for every working adult I suppose.
Your post brought back memories of growing up.
Although I can understand having a shower the night before, I don’t think I can leave the house without a shower early in the morning. Its just a ritual thing.
Great tips! I swear by most of these but I’ve never quite been able to incorporate setting out outfits the night before. It’s like my brain knows how much easier it would be if I did it but my hatred of making decisions (at any time) puts it off until the last minute. Maybe if I try again it will stick this time. 🙂
I tend to take too long in the morning. Checking the weather forecast and preparing my outfit in the evening may be the solution! I should try it! Thanks for sharing.
I remember the years when my kids were little and I worked in an office. If any part of the day was going to be stressful, it was the mornings. For me, it helped if I had everything ready to go the night before. Lunches, backpacks, and coats by the door. It took more time in the evening, but my future self always thanked me for it. x
I should seriously put together a morning routine for myself. I’m not a mum on the go though, but it would be nice to put on pants more than once a week for a change 😀
These are really helpful tips for busy mothers! I also follow some of these steps, for example i always prepare my clothes for the next day and create my list the night before.
When I was working full time I too would shower at night rather than the morning as mornings were always rushed and I would have to literally leap out the door and run. Leaving clothes out the night before is a good shout as well.
Must say that sometimes we dont think enough about small adjustments to our daily life that could actually make mornings more smoother! Like picking your dresses and having spot for them! Simple but effective!
Hello Chloe,
Great informative post over here 🙂

We all have time bounding issue and known how to manage the things in proper way, but this is an great enthusiasm by you. I’ll always have these idea to my mom to help her in such a hectic routine of daily life.

Great tips! I love not to feel rushed in the morning, so I tend to prepare many things in the evening like you advised. It goes a lot smoother and I never feel like I’m running late, it feels good 😀 I’m sure it would all be better if we could be more organised by avoiding all the “Do you know where my [insert object here] is?”… but we’re not there yet!!
Personally I’m very disorganize lol I will defiantly will try this tips!
Great tips for mums and not mums! I always try to remember and prepare my outfit the night before 🙂
xx

Great tips hun! I don’t have kids but I always have to wake up early and it’s super to have everything set up to avoid rush. I always choose my outfit and put my snacks ready the night before. I usually shower at night but sometimes I work out at morning and those mornings it’s a must to find some time for shower.
Great tip! I try to get as much done the night before as possible. Even our breakfasts and lunches. Definitely pick outfits and leave my phone charging then night before. Depending of where I’m going in the am I take a shower then night before so I don’t have to take one in the am but I typically take 2 showers a day lol.
These are great tips. Before I had kids, I used to plan my outfits an entire week in advanced based off the weekly weather forecast. Now, mama just doesn’t have time for that haha. We usually do everything the night before. Sometimes I’ll even shower and do my hair the night before just so I can get up and go in the morning.
I think that having ONE place for things is so important. I am working to get better at this in our home!
