How Can You Guarantee Personal Growth and Emotional Wellness?

I love the word happy now I know happiness is a choice. A habit that will guarantee personal growth in your daily life.

April arrived fast! Real fast. Seems like just a few weeks ago we were celebrating Christmas and the New Year, and suddenly Spring is here.

Flowers are blooming, coats and sweaters are coming off and the general feeling in the air is lighter, more colourful, happier. Happy. Yes, that word again.

I say daily because consistency is key. You have to work at it and really and truly want it.

A habit is defined as an acquired behaviour pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.

We have bad habits and good habits. Most people associate habits with something negative.

You can guarantee personal growth by acquiring these five habits and practicing them every single day.

Change will come slowly but surely.

There are powerful habits you can implement in your life that will guarantee personal growth. Click through to read more on how you can guarantee personal growth today and everyday! via @purposefulhabits #motivation #growth #change #motivational #selfcare #personalgrowth #empoeringwomen #selflove

The Five Amazing Habits That Will Guarantee Personal Growth

 1. Self Reflection

guarantee personal growth through self reflection, person sitting on bench a busy bee's life

This is a great way to guarantee personal growth. Self-reflection is important for gaining perspectives into different situations that life throws at us. You will learn so much about yourself in the process.

Introspection is when you can examine your own thoughts, feelings and sensations to gain insight.

You will begin to see growth and changes in yourself and become better each and every day. It prevents you from worrying about things out of your control.

2. Always Have An Open Mind

guarantee personal growth byhaving an open mind, group of guy friends a busy bees life

When you learn to open your mind and listen to other points of views (even if you don’t agree with them). You will find that you learn to hear people out rather than trying to prove them wrong.

Listening is hard. It can be hard not to interrupt, hear the person out, then offer your thoughts, suggestions, feedback and opinions.

When you have a closed mind, it’s easy to rush to conclusions and pass judgment.

What if I told you I deleted all the pictures on my husband’s phone while he was sleeping? Would you think I was a mean spirited little witch? Possibly.

Ok – but what if I told you his phone had run out of space because we take so many pictures of our little one. He had asked me for days to please download the pictures to the PC and remove them from his phone.

Didn’t get around to it until after everyone had gone to bed. Would that change your impression of me?

Having an open mind means not taking the first thing that enters your head and establishing it as fact.

Don’t limit yourself to approaching life the same way day after day. Be more accepting of others and open to change.

  • Drives you to learn new skills
  • Creates opportunities
  • Builds self-esteem

  • Helps you to achieve your goals
  • Breaking out of your comfort zone will allow for changes to happen

I am a HUGE fan of positive affirmations. Speaking positive affirmations to yourself daily will guarantee personal growth in your life. When I started speaking positive affirmations to myself, I was able to strengthen the connection between my conscious and unconscious mind. What an amazing difference it has made in the way I approach life. You are in charge of both your mind and your happiness.

This applies to both good and bad. Whichever you choose to focus on, you’ll look for and find things that back up your belief.

 5. Find Humor In Every Dayguarantee personal growth by finding humor in every day, man laughing a busy bees life

One great way to guarantee personal growth is finding humour in every day. Humour brings out positive emotions and allows you to overthink situations less frequently.

Humour lightens emotional loads we carry, allows for great conversations to take place and helps to de-stress. Who doesn’t love a good laugh?

I completely agree happiness is a choice. It’s a choice in the way that you’ve outlined. It’s a habit. A practice. It’s also a choice in that we don’t need to stay trapped in situations that don’t support our happiness. That is also a choice. Like you said. Don’t be afraid to take a risk, because there could be something really wonderful on the other side. Great post!

MELANIE EDJOURIAN November 1, 2017 - 14:15

Having an open mind and learning to take risks are really important. I need to take more risks myself sometimes, I’n not that adventurous..

Jhilmil Bhansali November 1, 2017 - 06:09

The image itself is so catchy and if we think so many points shall come out how to have that growth. Self reflection and taking the risks are what I focus on, they bring out things in me so differently and I keep on surprising myself with that confidence.

Great read today. I think it is positive affirmation and finding humor that works for me the best. I know that it is not easy to stay away from negativity (its all around us – and worldwide at that!), but with a lot of practice, we can do it!

Ana De-Jesus October 31, 2017 - 23:07

Amen to that. For me personally being open minded is the most successful way of guaranteeing personal growth! And not just being open minded in your attitudes towards others but also being open to trying new things and going out of your comfort zone.

Akamatra October 31, 2017 - 19:30

These are great habits indeed. I need to work on some and I have others managed. Especially the one about humour 🙂

I’ve been looking for ideas how to grow my inner me and kind of find myself. It’s a setp by step process. I think I’m quite openminded but still have to learn taking more risks.

Keeping an open mind and positive affirmations is key! I like to make sure that there is no room for negative self speak and negative thoughts. Laughter also ensure that happens. Thanks for the wonderful tips!

Alayna April 11, 2017 - 16:47

You know, I always used to think the positive affirmation thing was corny. I could never get into it. Then I started a new job and I told myself that every time I passed a specific landmark during my daily commute, I would say one positive affirmation to myself. I honestly do think it puts me in a positive mindset for the rest of the day!

Sheri @ A Busy Bees Life April 12, 2017 - 05:53

What a great idea Alayna. I think it really does work and changes the way you view things in life. I will try the positive affirmation landmark idea – have a wonderful day! Sheri

Such great advice. It does take work but your right happiness is a choice.

Breena Blake April 10, 2017 - 23:35

Those are really good habits to have. I must work on the daily affirmations. However, I do choose happiness everyday 🙂

Brittany_WMSB April 10, 2017 - 23:02

I keep a couple of positive affirmations on sticky notes on my computer monitor at work. They make a huge difference in my life, as well! I think remembering that happiness is a CHOICE is a key part of being happy in life. Thanks for these thoughts!

Divya @ Eat. Teach. Blog. April 10, 2017 - 10:27

I really like the idea of taking time out of your day to be reflective. So often, I’m faced with so many distractions (we all are!). But, the times in which we really figure out whats working and what isn’t are the times we remove ourselves to allow for reflection.
