Positive Affirmations vs Negative Self Talk: How To Speak
Positive affirmations are the good statements that describe a desired situation or goal. You can speak daily positive affirmations to yourself repeatedly until they are impressed in your subconscious mind.
This process causes your mind to work on your behalf, to make the positive statements come true.
Easy as ABC.
Have you ever felt lost in your world of low self esteem? I know I have.
Negative self-talk can bring down your perspective on life – if you allow it.
If your current way of thinking is self-defeating, here are some positive affirmations to motivate you to look at things from a different perspective.
This post will come in two parts, A-L then M – Z.
Attitude to Motivation
Accept Yourself – This is who you are
Be emotionally honest – Stand by your truth
Consciously change your mental attitude – With positive affirmations
Detox your life of toxic people – You will be better off for it
Empower yourself – Make this a daily habit
Forgive yourself – Mistakes are where they should be (in the past)
Guidance – Seek it from those who love you
Hold on to the positives – Let go of the negatives
Intentions are good – Make it an intention to have a good day
Just enjoy the moment
Keep going – You will get through it
Love yourself – Do something nice for yourself every single day
Motivate yourself and others
Do you speak positive affirmations to yourself? If not, or if you need a little daily boost, download your positive affirmations guide blow and get the complete list from A – Z before anyone else.
Let me know which letter A – L you think will be most helpful to you, today, this week, or at this stage in your life.
Have a wonderful and positive day! Speak good things to yourself! You deserve it.

I love this. Just the positivity I need to get over my Monday blues.
Being positive is very important in anyone’s life as it not only affects physical health but mental too. I try to avoid the company of those people who creates a negative aura around myself and demotivates me!
I love these positive affirmations. Sometimes, the difference between having a good or a bad day actually depends on what you say to yourself when you are alone. It really is important to love one’s self and to fill our hearts and minds with only the good stuff. It might be a tad difficult letting go of past hurts, regrets, or bad experiences, but it will all be for the good in the long run. Thanks for sharing this. I need these affirmations from time to time. Have a lovely week ahead! ^_^
I love reading uplifting posts like this thanks for sharing, K ks for me this month 🙂

Sheri, yes I do! I make my own positive affirmations – usually it’s something that I want specifically put in the present tense. For instance, “Thank you universe that I am earning xxx every month.” This is the prescribed way following the Law of Attraction. Sometimes it’s difficult to do this daily especially when things aren’t going my way, but I believe it helps me focus on what I want and plant little seeds of gratitude every time I visualize the affirmations already happening in my life.
Yes Katherine! You are so right! Sending good thoughts out into the universe along with your wants, will bring those things directly to you! Have a wonderful Sunday filled with positive affirmations!
I love your alphabet list of affirmations! Being grateful is the start for us to have an inner peace within our own selves. I have done it before and it really produced great results. I have also read about “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. It talks about law of attractions. Definitely if we will just continue to give attention to more positive things than those of negatives one, we will discover how wonderful a life can be.
I agree with you Ana Rose! The way positive affirmations works in line with the universe will attract wonderful things into our lives and push out the negatives.
I see some children facing this problem. They hardly are able to cope with fast changing world around and unable to cope they sink into low spirits. This A to M tips are great, simple to understand. I will be sharing with my young friends.
Thank you for sharing Indrani, I am publishing N- Z this evening! Enjoy!
Such a beautiful post to keep yourself motivated and stay positive. We all go through negative vibrations every now & then in life and it is up to us to empower our-self and move ahead with a positive attitude. Thanks for inspiring!
Thank you for reading and for your feedback Lisa! Have a lovely Sunday. 🙂
I believe that happiness is an inside job so positive affirmations are a big part of that. Great post
It is highly important to empower yourself with positive self-talk because it helps you reach your highest potential and achieve success. Positive thinking makes your life look brighter and promising! Amazing post!
You are so right Euge Nia! I agree with you 100%.
This is inspiring. Unfortunately, not always easy to do in real life but has reminded me that I should be more positive. These affirmations will motivate me and I will not be so self critical. It is vital to empower others and encourage their achievements too! A good post for a dreary November day. Thank you 🙂
Often before I study for example biology I feel like I can’t do that or even caught myself saying what’s the point? But with chemistry I know I can, and even if it’s harder than the biology I master it perfectly. So, I completely agree with you. We shouldn’t allow negativity to control our lives, because it will if we don’t do something about it.
I need to be intentional about starting my day on a good note. Thank you for these “easy to implement” positive affirmation tips.
I absolutely cannot stand negativity! Positivity is key to living a stress free life.
l love this post! That “H” is really something I need to focus on right now. I really have to focus more on the positives and let go of the negative. That would be EXTREMELY beneficial for me.
Yes! I love all about this post! Amazing work! <3 I would love to recommend: http://www.louisehay.com/affirmations
Yes, I so agree! I try to always think positively because it takes less energy. I am SO with you on D.
Great post! And a great reminder for me. I love the Keep Going. Things will get better, in the end, don’t they? (;
This is a great, great, great activity of gratitude and positive affirmations! I love the G for “guidance.” We moved to a super, small town and my husband is wrapped up in his 1st year of studying for medical school. Of COURSE I will go to him if I feel like I’m about to emotionally break down, but I also don’t want to worry him or distract him for the small things. G for Guidance is helpful because I need to remember there are so many people to turn to – even if they’re not physically present!
This is a great post! I agree with everything. The two things that have worked best for me have been empowering myself and detoxing my life. I’ll be sure to share this with my clients.
Beautiful,thank you for sharing!
I think I like ‘K’ best — always keep moving, everything would pass.
That are great point to keep positive thinking. Thanks for sharing
Love your quoted text ‘Hold on to the positives – Let go of the negatives’. Always something I live by. Think about and strive for the future instead of dwelling in the past. Great photography too!
I like D! Detoxing toxic people! Sometimes it’s hard to let go of people, especially if they’ve been in your life for a long time despite the fact that they are doing more harm than good!

self-forgiveness – now there is a concept I sometimes struggle with. I hold myself to a high standard, and when I fall short, I tend to be merciless with myself. Not a good thing, Thanks for the reminder to be kinder to myself. Blessings!
I like A, D, J & M. Like Gil Renard once said, “positive things happen to positive thinkers!”
This is a great post for today. Especially when your feeling down. Be kinder to yourself…..I’ll try to remember this one. Thanks x
G for me Sheri somtimes I need all the help I can get. My lack of confidence can show through because of this, so I need that support. Great post I’m going to download your A to Z now.
Thank you so much Debbie. I am glad you enjoyed the post and that the A to Z can get you motivated and inspired. Positive affirmations should be a daily habit, I am working on this constantly. 🙂 Have a great weekend. S.
I love this, I may have to jot these down in my planner as a reminder if that’s ok?:)
Sure, jot it down, pin it, or bookmark it! Anyway that helps you! 🙂
There is nothing better than waking up in the morning and reading positive post like this. I can’t pick one of the most out all of these points, because they are all true and important as the others. I bookmark this. Thank you!
I love this and it’s so true, attitude definitely makes a difference between a good and a bad day! being positive breeds positivity in my opinion so affirmations are really useful!
This is such a great and inspiring article! And yeah, forgive yourself is probably the most important thing. Because all our mistakes belong to the past.
Cheers, Eliza
I need to book mark this and come back to it everyday to keep myself in a positive frame of mind!
Great advice! Love the A-M idea and looking forward for the N-Z. Love the “detox your life of toxic people.” That one is hard to do but a must-do, I think.
Ron
This is just what I needed today. “Stand by your truth” resonated with me beyond words. I think sometimes it’s easy for me to doubt myself when I don’t feel like I’m aligning with others, but this is a great reminder to stand by who you are. Love this. I can’t wait for the next part.
Yes, love this! Affirmations are vital! Thanks for sharing!
I think just enjoying the moment is key. Its what we have, so why not celebrate it. Dont deal with other drama or thoughts (that might be negative) and instead be content and be PRESENT where you are.
I really like this list. I keep hearing more and more about positive affirmations but I never really given them much thought in my own life. I really need to change my mindset on a few things though, so I am going to read through this list often to make sure I’m doing things right!
How we speak to ourselves in so important! I love your A to M! These are fabulous! I think F is my hardest
I love this so much! Attitude (and all of the things you listed frankly) can really make a huge difference on your life!
H is my letter for this week 🙂 Thank you for this wonderful and uplifting post!
Accepting & loving yourself are the most important things in life 🙂 Wonderful post!
I think it’s incredibly important to be mindful about how we talk to ourselves… putting oneself down, even as a joke can have really damaging effects. We need to love ourselves as we love others 🙂

Today the “D” affirmation spoke to me most. It’s been rough with election talk around my Facebook life, and I don’t need to hang on to people whose view of the world is incompatible to mine.
This is a great reminder! Thank you. L – Loving Myself, is something I need to remind myself to do. As a very busy mom to a great little girl, it’s hard to remember to make time to do something for me.
I also like positive affirmations for my daughter. I make a conscious effort to speak positively over her multiple times a day.
