Getting The Most Out Of Working With Brands
As a lifestyle and women’s empowerment blogger, working with brands is one of the most mainstream ways to make an income through my blog. No matter your nice, from fashion to food, from lifestyle to DIY, or parenting to travelling, there are opportunities out there for all. Today I want to share with you what I have learned about successful brand collaboration and promoting products that I truly love and believe in.
How Should Bloggers And Brands Work Together?
1. Understanding Blogging Partnerships
This is a healthy, fair, and successful brand collaboration between creators (bloggers) and brands. The blogger usually receives money, freebies, ir products writing a promotional article, and sharing on social media.
Brands are always looking for new ways to gain exposure and reach new audiences. Get Blogged is a great platform, and one of the easiest solutions for bloggers wanting to monetise their blogs.
2. Sending Your Pitch To A Brand
A brand pitch is an email that introduces yourself as an influencer. No matter how big or small, and explains to a brand who you are as well as explains who your audience is.
The email should share something genuine you like about the brand/product. Let them know what you love about the brand and what it represents.
Lay out what you hope to deliver for the brand and what you expect in return.
Never just introduce yourself, ask for a free product, and run. If you want a successful brand collaboration, that will get you nowhere.
3. Working With Brands You Love
I personally don’t work with every brand that reaches out to me. I prefer to work with brands and promote products that I personally love, believe in and would purchase without the collaboration.
This makes working with a company effortless as both parties have similar beliefs.
When you accept a collaboration, be genuinely interested in providing value through great design and storytelling through your words.
As a blogger, you should always take into consideration want brands you want to notice you.
4. Brands I Have Had A Successful Brand Collaboration With
I love working with great lifestyle, hotel, travel and women’s brands. Since launching my blog I have been fortunate enough to work with a lot of great brands, such a JORD, PandaVita, Rituals, Boohoo, Hilton, Hertz and many more.
Primarily, I have worked on content campaigns, press trips, flight sponsorship, events, social media, blog posts, and promotions.
An amazing outcome from the collaboration was linkbacks to my site and to the brands’ site. Link Building is great because it is is the most important skill in SEO you need to learn when blogging. Collaboration plus higher ranking i great for both parties. It’s also good old-fashioned marketing.
5. What A Blogging Partnerships And Collaboration Should Look Like
Every successful brand collaboration between brands and bloggers is unique and has different goals.
Here are helpful ground rules to consider if you’re thinking about brand collaboration:
- Create a relevant media kit
- Offer details behind your numbers
- Treat each partnership uniquely
- Keep your audience’s needs in the back of your mind
- Will your tribe resonate with this particular brand?
- Make sure this deal will seem like a natural choice
What If You Are Not A Big Influencer?
Everyone has to start somewhere right? Brand recognize that engagement is essential to influencer marketing, so it doesn’t mean you won’t have collaboration opportunities if you are a micro blogger. This means that your have between 1000 to 10,000 followers. This group of bloggers usually have a loyal and trusted following and high engagement. In turn, their followers are likely to trust their opinions and recommendations.
Things To Take Remember About A Successful Brand Collaboration
If you’ve had a positive experience with a brand, try to expand into a long-term partnership. This can be in the form of monthly gifting or quarterly campaigns.
The only way to secure this type of partnership after a campaign and collaboration is to make them see your value.
Every post you write for a brand should be your new best blog post.
Wait a few weeks after the collaboration has ended and followup with them. Long-term partnerships can be a blogger’s best friend and it is definitely worth a try.
You use your platform to promote their product, thus generating sales, and in turn the brand provides you product and compensation.
Always remember, the aim of collaborations is to create a mutually beneficial relationship with the brand.
